It might not be their best, but “Run” is my favorite song by either of these dudes. It’s short and focused, and, like most RZA productions, it’s also deceptively simple. While there are very few pieces to it, the beat cultivates a claustrophobic sense of panic. Ghost is as lean and immediate as ever, jamming exclamation points into every other word, and Jada rises to the occasion with a wry, dexterous verse of his own. Sometimes I’ll still catch myself saying, “I might have to take my shirt off” around the house.

During my junior year of college, I had a Winamp playlist that was just this song a hundred times.
