Das Racist- “hahahaha jk?”

I’m late to the party on this one, but Sit Down, Man is one of my favorite records of the year, even though some of it sucks. I can’t stop listening to it, specifically this Boi-1da-produced chestnut, which sounds like Ghostface if he went to college and wore Jack Purcells instead of Wallys. Inspired by the Village Voice’s similar idea, I started to list my favorite lyrics, but I ended up listing all of them. And I might have typed “These rappers wack as the movie Wackness*/They saccharine, but they not Equal” twice. I wish I had this when I was in grad school, the circular, navel-gazing, buttoned-up ditch-digging of which seems to be the perfect listening environment for Das Racist.

*- For the record, I loved The Wackness, but I can understand why someone wouldn’t.
