I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. What kind of apprehensible human being put Justin Beiber onto Vado? Did he just mention having a yellow bone? IS HE REALLY CALLING HIMSELF SHAWTY MANE?

I need a moment.

This has been the standard reaction from Real Hip-Hop Heads (TM), but there’s no reason not to like this.

1. Rapping over a Cam’ron and Vado song shows some bona fides.
2. The Tom Brady line is actually clever and self-aware.
3. He’s sixteen and spends a lot of time in a recording booth. Why wouldn’t he do this? Give the kid a break.
4. I wish he hadn’t ad-libbed “I’m white” at the end. For some reason, I had projected all kinds of post-racial ideals onto Biebs and assumed he thought there was nothing weird or ironic about rapping. Like I said though, self-aware.
