Set 5
All I Want
Jump Into the Fire (Harry Nilsson Cover)
New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down (with “Twin Peaks Theme” by Angelo Badalamenti intro)

The show wasn’t perfect. I thought “45:33” really sapped the momentum after the band had just taken a break. And as great as “Jump Into the Fire” was, I’ve never been a fan of playing someone else’s song in your encore. I would have switched that out with “Someone Great.” That being said, what a touching swan song. For the first time in a while, I had appointment viewing that could not be time-shifted (until today, that is), and being glued to my chair kind of joined me in this strange ritual, “as if I were there”—to paraphrase LCD’s most famous line. The show was on the tip of just enough people’s tongues that #LCD never trended across the country, which seems about right. Even as he held his follow-through in the air over the Byron Russell of Madison Square Garden, James Murphy stayed on the fringes.
