Art Project of the Day: For a 2008 exhibit aptly titled “Back to the Future,” artist Nils Guadagnin sculpted an exact replica of the hoverboard used in the film series, and fitted it with an electromagnetic system that allows the board to levitate above its electromagnetic plinth.

I hate when people do this to me, but I didn’t want to have to repopulate all the stupid comments that were getting in the way of a picture of 5,000 books glued together into a sculpture.

IT’S NOT HERE TO PROVOKE, DISCUSS, OR ENGAGE WITH. IT IS HERE TO BE CONSUMED. I PAID EIGHTEEN DOLLARS TO GET IN HERE, AND I’LL BE DAMNED IF ALL I LEAVE WITH IS EXPERIENCE OR WISDOM OR SOME FAG SHIT LIKE THAT. DON’T USE FLASH? FUCK THAT. IT’S MY MONEY. IT’S MY PAINTING. DON’T TOUCH IT? FUCK THAT. TOUCHING IS POSSESSION, AND POSSESSION IS NINE-TENTHS OF MY LIFE.

PRIMITIVE CULTURES DON’T WANT YOU TO TAKE PICTURES OF THEM BECAUSE THEY THINK IT’LL TAKE AWAY PART OF THEIR SOUL. EVERYTHING IS PRIMITIVE TO ME.
